GAME TIME!-practice these confusing Spanish verbs Hola amigos, summer is here, at least in the north hemisphere so a lot of people is getting time to chill, and often that means they forget about their Spanish goals, if you are one of those and you feel you still need to practice your Spanish, and feel a bit guilty with all the holidays jazz, but you can’t help yourself bothering to study, this blog is for you.

We are not going to learn anything new,  we are just going to have a little play.

I have put together some confusing verbs that usually drive Spanish students crazy, but still…you do not need to learn it is just a bit of practice : ), so get your notebook and pen ready, enjoy the sunshine and…let’s give it a go, see how good you know the following verbs.

Now you will be asking, which verbs are you talking about? Ok…ready to find them out?

The verbs we are going to be playing today are…

QUEDAR-QUEDARSE-PONERSE-VESTIRSE-LLEVAR-CAMBIARSE-TRASLADARSE-PONER-COLOCAR-INTRODUCIR-METER…

 

They all have similar meanings, and sometimes might seem the usage depends on the speaker preferences, but the thing is that managing these verbs will take you a step closer to Spanish fluency as the difference might seem slight but for a native speaker can be huge.

 

So I just challenge to give it a go, no pressure, it is  holiday  time too, when you are ready have a read and try 🙂  the solutions are below

  1. QUEDAR-PONERSE

  • No sé qué……………… para la fiesta de mañana.

¿Por qué no………………..el vestido azul?

  • Es que no……………….bien.

  1. QUEDAR-QUEDARSE

  • ¿Qué haces esta noche?

-Pues nada, no tengo ningún plan.

  • ¿………………..para tomar algo?

-Vale, ¿dónde………………..?

  • Pues podemos………………..en la puerta de tu casa.

-¿Y por qué no………………..allí toda la noche y vemos una peli?

 

  1. VESTIRSE-PONERSE

  • ¡María, son las 8.30h! ¿Es que hoy no piensas……………..? ¡Vas a llegar tarde al colegio!

-Ya voy, ya voy. Es que quería……………….el pantalón gris, pero está sucio.

 

  1. CAMBIARSE-TRASLADARSE

  • ¿Sabes algo de Ana?

-Pues sí, el próximo fin de semana………………..de piso.

  • ¿Sí? Pues no entiendo por qué. Su piso es grande, con luz y bien distribuido.

-Es que su empresa……………….a las afueras de la ciudad. Además, a ella no le gusta vivir en el centro.

 

  1. PONER-COLOCAR

  • ¿Por qué nunca………………..las cosas en su sitio?

-Porque no tengo tiempo.

  • Pues no se necesita mucho tiempo para………………los libros en la estantería.

-Vale, vale…

  • Bueno, no quiero discutir otra vez. Ahora………………..la mesa, por favor.

  1. INTRODUCIR-METER

  • No entiendo cómo funciona esta máquina. ¡Qué complicada!

-A ver. Aquí dice: “………………..la tarjeta”

  • Pero eso hago y no funciona.

-¿Por qué no la…………………por el otro lado?

Soluciones:

  1. Ponerme, te pones, me queda.
  2. Quedamos, quedamos, quedar, nos quedamos.
  3. Vestirte, ponerme.
  4. Cambia, se ha trasladado.
  5. Colocas, colocar, pon.
  6. Introduzca, introduces.

 

And that is it amigos, all the good things come to an end and this is the end of today practice.
